How to use the poker odds calculator

  1. Tap two cards: those are your hole cards.
  2. If there is a board, tap 3 (flop), 4 (turn) or 5 (river) more cards. No board means preflop.
  3. Set how many opponents you are facing. More opponents, lower chance of winning.
  4. Optional: enter the pot and the bet to see whether calling is profitable.

Equity and pot odds in two lines

Your equity is your chance of winning the hand. Pot odds are the minimum you need for a call not to lose chips: if the pot is 6 and someone bets 3, you pay 3 to win a pot of 12, so you need to win 1 time in 4 (25%). If your equity is higher than that, calling is profitable.

Frequently asked questions

What is equity in poker?

Equity is your chance of winning the hand if all the remaining cards are dealt out. An equity of 60% means that, repeating the hand many times, you would win 6 out of 10 (ties count as half).

How does the poker odds calculator work out the probability?

It simulates 20,000 hands, dealing the missing board cards and your opponents' cards at random, and counts how many you win. Everything runs in your browser: nothing is sent to any server.

Why does it assume opponents hold random hands?

Because it does not know what they have. A real opponent who bets usually holds a better hand than a random one, so your true equity is almost always lower than what you see here. Treat it as a ceiling, not a promise.

What are pot odds?

Pot odds are the share of the time you need to win for calling a bet not to lose chips. They are the amount you call divided by the total pot after calling. If your equity is above that percentage, calling is profitable.

Does it work for any poker game?

It is built for Texas Hold'em: 2 hole cards and up to 5 board cards. It works the same in cash games and tournaments, although in tournaments there is more to weigh than the math.
